AFL veteran Jade Rawlings will be in contention for his Kangaroos debut this week as the Roos embark on re-jigging their structure after consecutive losses in excess of 11 goals.
Rawlings, who was traded to Arden Street from the Western Bulldogs during the off-season, has played 145 AFL matches for Hawthorn and the Dogs since his AFL debut in 1996.
In the wake of a 77-point loss to Collingwood at Telstra Dome on Monday, Kangaroos assistant coach Darren Crocker admitted the Roos will alter their team in an attempt to find the right combination.
"We'll keep re-jigging the team, trying to find the right structure that works for us," Crocker said at the Roos' recovery session on Tuesday.
"We've obviously got to have a look at our midfield and make sure that we get some more numbers going through there and hopefully strengthen up our defence a little bit."
After the club fielded a relatively inexperienced defensive combination against the Magpies, Crocker said Rawlings - the elder brother of new teammate Brady Rawlings - would be considered for Sunday's clash against West Coast at Manuka Oval.
"Jade played a really strong game in the VFL on the weekend, both between half-back and also going forward," Crocker said.
"He's in line (for selection). As I said, after two disappointing losses like we've had, there are a couple of guys putting their hand up at VFL level who are definitely in line for senior selection."
One player who will be missing from the Kangaroos' line-up will be veteran Glenn Archer, who strained a hamstring against Collingwood.
When asked if some senior players were 'on notice' after a disappointing performance against the Pies, Crocker said: "Your week to week performance puts you on notice, whether you play well or you don't play well.
"All of a sudden you come under a bit of scrutiny.
"After two disappointing performances like we've had, yeah, without a doubt, but in saying that, you can't just make wholesale changes just for the sake of it because we've got to look at the side and structure up the best way we can."
