Northern Lights (formerly KNOW)

The Northern Lights is the official women’s supporters’ group for the North Melbourne Football Club.
It’s really about connecting the ‘blue dots’ in the crowd – bringing North’s female members together to provide a range of social and networking opportunities.

Join the Northern Lights in 2012

Join other passionate North Melbourne fans at pre-match and other events to:
• connect with the club and your fellow members
• meet other women with similar footy passions
• hear about what happens behind the scenes at the club
• sponsor a junior player at the start of his career, and
• contribute something to a worthy women’s cause.

Sponsorship and fundraising
Every year the Northern Lights sponsors a rookie player. We’re proud to say that after a fantastic debut season in 2011, the Northern Lights will again sponsor last year’s number one draft pick, Shaun Atley.

Shaun joined us at several player/sponsor events last year, including our annual KNOWing Footy event and it has been great to see his career start in the right direction.

The group has previously sponsored Ben Warren, Conor Meredith and Ben Schwarze.

A percentage of funds raised throughout the year go to women’s-based and other charities.
In 2011, the Northern Lights made donations to:
• OvCa – the ovarian cancer network
• White Ribbon Foundation
• World Vision, and
• Heart Kids.

2012 events (all dates and details to be confirmed)
• KNOWing Footy – Thursday 22 March at Aegis Park and The Huddle (TBC)
• Hobart casual members’ dinner – Saturday 7 April (TBC)
• Pre-game brunch – Sunday 27 May prior to the NMFC v Brisbane game at Etihad
• Gala lunch – Sunday 1 July prior to the NMFC v St Kilda twilight game at Etihad
# potential for a second pre-game brunch later in the season (prior to the NMFC v Melbourne game on Saturday 28 July), depending on demand.
