Northern Lights

The Northern Lights is the official women’s supporters’ group for the North Melbourne Football Club. It provides a range of social and networking opportunities for women who support the Club.

Activities are run throughout the year for the benefit of female members and to raise funds.

The Northern Lights aims to:
• provide networking opportunities for all Northern Lights members both within and outside the football community
• organise and participate in specific events, seminars and programs of special interest to women associated with the NMFC
• provide the opportunity for core members with specific skills and knowledge to share these as required by the NMFC leadership
• support the Kangaroos player group, the North Melbourne Football Club and chosen charities through successful events and activities.

Sponsorship and fundraising
Every year the Northern Lights sponsor a rookie player. In 2010 the sponsored player is Conor Meredith from Laois, Ireland.

The group has previously sponsored Ben Warren and Ben Swartz. A percentage of funds raised throughout the year goes to Ovarian Cancer Australia (OvCa) and other chosen, women’s based charities.

Patron
Kylie Inserra, wife of Board member, Fulvio Inserra, is the Northern Lights Patron.
