Played six of North’s first eight games in 2011 and looked set for a breakthrough season, but Garlett was dropped following the round nine loss to the Brisbane Lions and, despite excellent form in the VFL with North Ballarat, played just three more games for the season as he struggled to break into the Roos’ midfield. Highly regarded for his one-touch ball-handling at stoppages, but faces a make-or-break year in 2012.
