Arguably North’s most valuable player, Petrie was a second round draft selection in the 2000 National Draft.

Now a seasoned campaigner and vice-captain of the club, he has been used in a variety of roles throughout his career.

Strong and athletic, Petrie can play as a damaging forward, effective ruck and negating defender. His contested marking and work ethic are a feature of his game and he has the ability to win a match off his own boot.

Three broken bones in his feet, all on separate occasions, forced him out of action for the majority of 2010 but 2011 proved to be one of the 29 year olds best seasons yet.

He was the Kangaroos leading goal kicker for 2012 and finished third (on count back) in the Syd Barker Medal.
