Having been North’s No.1 target in attack in the second half of 2010, Drew Petrie’s return to the forward line meant he had to adjust to playing higher up the ground. He also had a bad run with injury and illness, missing five matches, while he was switched regularly from attack to defence.

Hansen remains an elite contested mark; he took 26 in 2011, with Petrie the only Kangaroo to take more. But he enters his sixth season in 2012 and should be desperate to establish himself as a key North player. Had shoulder surgery last September.
