North Melbourne’s fourth-round selection in the 2006 National Draft, Thomas was seen as one of the best pick-ups that year after his impressive first season in 2007. The former Port Adelaide Magpie burst onto the scene, kicking four goals in his first pre-season game for the Kangaroos and went on to play 12 games for the year.

The exciting small forward combined with Matt Campbell in attack and helped bring about a new structure to the North Melbourne forward line.

2011 was a disappointing season for Thomas who struggled to find consistency in front of goal. He spent time at VFL affiliate North Ballarat to find form and kicked a remarkable nine goals.

The 23 year old will be hoping to regain form in 2012 and cement his spot as a reliable small forward.
