Had back surgery in December 2010, but remarkably, he returned to play against Collingwood in round two. Badly broke a finger against Melbourne in round eight. Despite being one of North’s fittest players, those disruptions ultimately told on Grima as he struggled to run out games after resuming in round 13.

After the round 15 loss to St Kilda, he was dropped to the VFL to regain fitness and form, but returned to play the final three games. Remains North’s most reliable key defender when fit.
