North Melbourne chief executive Eugene Arocca has sent a profound message to all Kangaroos supporters after laying the first paver outside the new Arden Street facility.
Arocca’s prime paver, located just outside the main entrance, has ‘Where I belong!” engraved across it in bold lettering.
“I still have the odd Collingwood supporter coming up to me on the street and asking when I’m going to return to the Magpies. I can tell you now, that will never happen and as the paver says, this is where I belong,” Arocca told kangaroos.com.au.
Arocca also secured a paver in the name of his two sons James and Ben.
“This is a fantastic way to etch your family name into the foundations of this $15M complex forever.”
Glenn Archer, Donald McDonald and Drew Petrie also secured a place out the front, just before the prime pavers sold out.
There’s still an opportunity for supporters to secure a spot on the oval side of the building alongside Ron Barassi, Laurie Dwyer, Adam Simpson, Brent Harvey, Daniel Pratt, Daniel Wells, Darren Crocker, Brett Allison and Corey Jones.
The Arden Street Redevelopment Project is registered with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF). Donations to the ASF in support of the project are tax deductible. All donations will be gratefully received with donations of $250 to be recognised on a 330mm x 330mm paver. Numbers are strictly limited and supporters are encouraged to act fast to avoid the disappointment of missing out. Contact Bree Hitches on (03) 9320 2427 or bree.hitches@kangaroos.com.au
